Hajah Prayer

The prayer of supplication (Hacet Namazı) is also known as the prayer of request. A person may have desires related to this world or the hereafter, and they may pray for the sake of Allah with the wish that these desires and wishes be fulfilled. In short, it is a four-rak'ah prayer performed by a person who has a request for this world or the hereafter. The prayer of supplication is mentioned by the High Council of Religious Affairs. Furthermore, in a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it is stated that one can pray for a request. When Muslims have a request or wish, there should be no better way than to ask Allah for it. Instead of resorting to superstitions like wish trees, wish wells, or tying rags, it is most virtuous to pray by prostrating in prayer.

How to Perform

5 Steps

First, perform ablution and make your intention.
State: "I intend to perform the Prayer of Need for the sake of Allah." It is correct to think in your heart or express aloud what you are performing this prayer for.

Say "Allahu Akbar" for the opening takbir and clasp your hands.
Recite "Subhanaka" and say "A'uzu-Basmala."
Recite "Surah Al-Fatiha."
After Al-Fatiha, recite "Ayat al-Kursi" three times.
Say "Allahu Akbar" and bow into ruku, saying "Subhana Rabbiyal-Azim" three times. Rising, say "Semi Allahu Limen Hamideh" and "Rabbena Lekel Hamd."
Say "Allahu Akbar" and prostrate twice, saying "Subhana Rabbiyal-A'la" three times.
Say "Allahu Akbar" and stand for the second rak'ah.

Say Bismillah and recite Surah Al-Fatiha.
After Al-Fatiha, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas in order.
Perform ruku and sajdah.
At the end of this rak'ah, sit down and recite "Attahiyyat."

Say Bismillah and recite Surah Al-Fatiha.
After Al-Fatiha, as in the 2nd rak'ah, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas in order.
Perform ruku and sajdah, then stand up.

Say Bismillah and recite Surah Al-Fatiha.
After Al-Fatiha, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas in order.
Perform ruku and sajdah, then proceed to the final sitting.
Recite "Attahiyyat," "Salli Barik," "Rabbana Atina," and "Rabbana Firli."
Give salutations to the right and left to complete the prayer.
