How to Pray?

9 Steps

After performing wudu, ensure the prayer area and your clothes are clean. Face the Qibla with feet about four fingers apart. (Men recite the Iqamah before fard prayers). - Make the intention for the specific prayer you are about to perform. For example: 'I intend to perform the sunnah of today's Fajr prayer for the sake of Allah'.

Niyet

Raise your hands so your thumbs touch your earlobes, with palms facing the Qibla and fingers slightly apart. Recite the Takbir: 'Allahu Akbar'.

İftitah Tekbiri

Immediately after the Takbir, place your hands below the navel, with the right hand over the left. Grip the left wrist with the thumb and little finger of the right hand. While looking at the place of prostration, recite 'Subhanaka'. Then recite the 'Audhu Billah' and 'Basmalah', followed by 'Surah Al-Fatihah' and another 'Surah'.
