Salawat-i Sharifa and Comprehensive Invocations (Full Text)

Salawat-i Sharifa I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, who has been expelled from divine mercy. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. “Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. (Our Lord!) We worship You alone and we seek help from You alone. Guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom You have bestowed Your favor upon, not the path of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray!” (Al-Fatiha, 1-7) Amen! “Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Messenger. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and greet him with complete submission.” (Al-Ahzab, 56) O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and his companions, and bless them! “Exalted is your Lord, the Exalted, above what they attribute to Him. Peace be upon all the messengers sent! And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!” (As-Saffat, 180-182) O Messenger of Allah! O Beloved of Allah! O Khalil of Allah! O Prophet of Allah! O Chosen Servant of Allah! O Best of Allah's Creation! O Light of Allah's Throne! O Trustworthy One of Allah's Revelation! O One Whom Allah Adorned! O One Whom Allah Honored! O One Whom Allah Granted Grace! O One Whom Allah Exalted! O One Whom Allah Taught! O Master of the Prophets! O Imam of the Pious! O Seal and Last of the Prophets! O One Sent as a Mercy to the Worlds! O Intercessor of the Sinners! May peace and blessings be upon you, O Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds! May the blessings of Allah, His angels, His prophets, His messengers, the angels who carry the Throne, and all creation be upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and his companions. Three times: O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Master Muhammad, Your servant, Your prophet, Your beloved, Your messenger, and the unlettered Prophet, and upon his family and companions! Three times: O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the Prophet with the beautiful face, the source of beauty and joy in everything, the possessor of the highest rank and the most eloquent language! O Allah, may Your most virtuous blessings, Your most abundant bounties, and Your purest greetings, in virtue and number, be upon him forever and ever; To the most honorable of mankind, the gathering place of the truths of faith, the mountain of the manifestations of grace, the place where divine secrets descend, the favorite of the divine realm, the center of the necklace of prophets, the commander of the army of prophets, the leader of the caravan of honored prophets, the most superior of all creation. O Allah, bestow your blessings upon our Master Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdulmuttalib, the bearer of the highest banner of glory, the possessor of the highest handle of honor, the witness to the mysteries of eternity, the observer of the light of the pioneers, the interpreter of the language of antiquity, the source of knowledge, forbearance, and wisdom, the recipient of the secret of partial and total generosity, the apple of the eye of both sublime and base beings (three times: the soul of the body of two worlds), the eye of both worldly lives, the one who deserves the highest rank of servitude, the one who is adorned with the morals of the stations of selection, our most exalted friend, our most generous beloved; and upon the other prophets and messengers, the closest angels, and the righteous servants of Allah from the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth! Send blessings and peace upon them, as long as those who remember You remember You and those who are heedless are heedless of Your remembrance… May Allah be pleased with all the Companions of the Messenger of Allah. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Every day, morning and evening, 3 or 7 times: “…Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god but Him. I put my trust in Him alone. He is the Lord of the Throne.” (At-Tawbah, 129) Every day, morning and evening, 3 or 7 times: “In the name of Allah, by whose name nothing in the heavens or on earth can harm. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.” (Abu Dawud, Adab, 101/5088) When leaving the house, say at least 3 or 7 times: “In the name of Allah, Allah is sufficient for me, I put my trust in Allah, the ability to avoid sin and the strength to obey are only through the guidance and help of Allah.” O Allah, we have entered the morning upon the Islamic nature, the word of sincerity, the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the nation of Abraham, who was a Hanif and a Muslim, not a polytheist. O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the calamity that would make us prefer death to life, from having little wealth but a large family, from the evils that lead to worldly and otherworldly ruin and destruction, from a bad end and the circumstances that lead to it, and from suffering calamities that would please our enemies. (See Bukhari, Du'a, 28) “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from helplessness, laziness, cowardice, stinginess, the weakness and senility of old age, gloom (hardness of heart), heedlessness, humiliation, scarcity of wealth and good deeds, and wretchedness. I seek refuge in You from the insatiable needs of the self, from disbelief, from wickedness, from opposition and separation from the truth, and from hypocrisy… I seek refuge in You from the tribulation of the Dajjal.” (Suyûtî, el-Câmiu's-sağîr, no: 1489; Hâkim, I, 712/1944; Buhârî, Tefsîr, 16/1) O Allah, I have awakened this morning with no power to harm or benefit myself, no power over death, life, or resurrection. I have no power to receive anything except what You give, nor to be protected by anything except what You protect. O Allah, grant me success in the words and deeds that please You and are pleasing to You in the path of obedience. Indeed, You are the possessor of great bounty and grace. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Three times: “O Allah, who protected Noah in the water, Joseph in the well, Jonah in the belly of the fish, Job in distress and suffering, Moses in the sea, Abraham in the fire, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the cave, protect me too, and do not disgrace me in the presence of people!” “O Allah, who removes distress and sorrow, who dispels grief and sadness, who answers the prayers of those in distress, who manifests Himself as the Most Merciful in this world and the Most Compassionate in the Hereafter; only You can show me mercy, show me mercy from Your own presence with a mercy that will make me independent of the mercy of others!” “O Allah, do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye!” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught the following prayer to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). It is said that whoever recites this prayer morning and evening, Allah Almighty will protect them from all kinds of accidents and calamities. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. (Three times) “O Vedud (O Beloved of hearts! O Most Loving and Most Beloved), O Vedud, O Vedud! O Owner of the Exalted Throne! O Creator, O Restorer! O Allah, who does whatever You wish! I ask You by the light of Your Beauty that fills every corner of the Throne, by Your power over all Your creation, and by Your all-encompassing mercy; there is no god but You, O Helper, help me, come to my aid, O Helper of those who seek help!” In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. (Five times) O Allah, O Giver of Glory, O Humiliator, O Hearer, O Seer, O Helper, O Victorious One, O Majestic, O Compeller, O Powerful, O Subduer, O Avenger! May Allah send blessings upon Muhammad, the best of His creation, and his family! Accept this with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful! The light of Allah has shone, the word of Allah has manifested, the command of Allah has been established, the judgment of Allah has prevailed. I have sought help from Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah, I have taken refuge in Allah, what Allah says will happen, and strength is only through the guidance of Allah. I seek refuge in the hiddenness of Allah's grace, the subtlety of Allah's artistry, the beauty of Allah's concealment, the greatness of Allah's remembrance, and the glory of Allah's sovereignty. I have entered into Allah's protection, and into the security of Allah's Messenger – peace and blessings be upon him. I am far from my own strength and power; I seek help from Allah's strength and power. O Allah, cover and protect me with the veil with which You conceal Yourself. No eye can see You, and no hand can reach You, O Lord of the Worlds. Strength and power belong only to Allah, the Exalted and Majestic. This prayer is recited to be safe from the evil of enemies. According to a narration from Abdullah ibn Umar, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed as follows on the day of the Battle of Ahzab: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. There is no god but Allah, a veil between me and all the devils. There is no god but Allah, a veil between me and all calamities and misfortunes. There is no god but Allah, a veil between me and all my enemies. There is no god but Allah, the King and the Compeller. There is no god but Allah, the One and the Subduer. There is no god but Allah, the Guardian and the Concealer. There is no god but Allah, the Great and the Exalted. Protect me with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. O Allah, I seek refuge in the light of Your holiness, the blessing of Your purity, and the majesty of Your glory from sudden and distressing events of the night, except for sudden events that bring good. O Allah, You are the source from whom I seek help; only You do I seek help. You are the refuge I take; only You do I seek refuge. You are my sanctuary; only You do I take shelter in. O You before whom the necks of tyrants bow, O You before whom the power and treasures of Pharaohs submit, do not disgrace me and do not punish me, save me from these things, protect me in my night, in my sleep, and wherever I am! There is no god but You. I glorify Your essence, I honor the light and beauty of Your Throne. Keep the evil of Your servants away from me. Keep me under the protection of Your grace and in the gardens of Your protection! Always bestow upon me good things, O Most Merciful of the merciful. There is no god but Allah, the Mighty and the Compeller. There is no god but Allah, the One and the All-Powerful. There is no god but Allah, the King and the Concealer of Sins. There is no god but Allah, the Great and the Exalted. There is no god but Allah; save us from the calamities of this world and the torment of the Hereafter. There is no god but Allah. This is exactly so, and this is what should be said. There is no god but Allah. This is truly and genuinely so; there is no falsehood in it. There is no god but Allah; I say this with faith and conviction. There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. O One, O One. The following supplications should be recited daily with the specified numbers: 11 Salawat (blessings upon the Prophet) 111 O Allah, the Ever-Existing, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining, the Possessor of Majesty and Generosity, I seek refuge in Your mercy and ask for Your help. 11 Salawat Allah Almighty says: “Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings and peace upon him.” (Surah Al-Ahzab, 56)
