Prayer When Wearing New Clothes
Dressing and Eating PrayersWhen the Prophet (peace be upon him) renewed his clothes, he would recite this prayer:
“O Allah! Praise be to You. – (mentioning the name of what he was wearing) – You have clothed me with this. I ask that it be good for me, that it be in accordance with its purpose, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and from it not being in accordance with its purpose.” (Abu Dawud, Libas 1, (4020), Tirmidhi, Libas 29, (1767))
