While wiping the ears, the following prayer is recited:

Bismillâh, Allâhümmec’alnî minel-lezîne yestemiûnelkavle feyettebiûne ahseneh

"In the name of Allah, O Allah, make me one of Your servants who listen to the word and act upon it in the best way."
